Speed Networking

“Supersize” your contact list by attending the Chamber’s first ever Speed Networking event. It is happening at the Chamber office on Friday, June 4th starting at 8:00 am and running till 9:15. Attendance is limited to the first 40 members who sign up. Please, only one person per company so that more members can benefit.

SPEED NETWORKING is a networking event with an accelerated twist; it allows attendees a quick and entertaining opportunity to introduce themselves and their business to other people in business.

Polish your “elevator speech”, bring lots of business cards, wear your running shoes (and your deodorant!). Breath mints are good too!

Contact the Chamber office to make your reservation. Coffee and goodies will be served. Sponsored by Van Houtte Coffee and Den Mar Electric.

Youth Entrepreneurship Program, A Business of Our Own

Junior Achievement of British Columbia (JABC) and the Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce are pleased to present the first annual A Business of Our Own – Company Challenge. The Challenge has adopted the foundation set in place by the previously run KidVentures program and yet is an up-to-date initiative that is curriculum linked, student centred and skills focused; giving youth the confidence and skills they need to become the next generation of business and community leaders.

A Business of Our Own is a five-week Junior Achievement program that will run in ten local classrooms. The A Business of Our Own – Company Challenge is made available to schools and students at no cost; all materials and supplies are provided free of charge.
