Your Guide to Innovation
On December 2nd, the federal government announced a new service that allows businesses easy access to government innovation assistance programs that help them develop and bring their products and services to market more quickly. The entire service is intended to assist entrepreneurs reach their desired objectives.
By combining online, phone, and in-person assistance, the Concierge Service provides a single point of contact. Delivered by the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP), this new service will complement NRC’s existing array of innovation support, strategic research, and scientific and technical services. To take advantage of the Concierge service, businesses can visit Concierge.portal.gc.ca or call at 1-855-534-8433.

A Tidesmen Christmas
For the fourth year in a row, the Tidesmen Barbershop Chorus and TheatreOne will be joining forces in an evening of song and celebration of the holiday season. This year’s special guests add something extra to the show, which offers an uplifting program of carols and songs of the holiday season for young and old alike. Joining them on stage will be British Columbia Boys’ Choir Island Chapter and Heart of the Island Sweet Adelines Chorus. TheatreOne will present an excerpt from Norm Foster’s Dear Santa performed by Garry Davey and David Mann.
Life is “Wonderful” this Christmas at The Chemainus Theatre Festival
The Chemainus Theatre Festival is making the most of the holiday season, giving patrons of all ages a rich, new way to enjoy the Christmas classic, It’s a Wonderful Life. Taking the festive story from screen to stage, a talented troupe of artists deliver the live musical experience that has been featured in theatres around the world every year since its 1987 musical debut. The one-month engagement runs November 22 through December 23. Tickets are on sale now through The Chemainus Theatre Festival box office.

The City of Nanaimo is Seeking Feedback on a Draft Set of Transportation Policies & ActionsThe City of Nanaimo is developing its first ever long-term Transportation Master Plan. The Nanaimo Transportation Master Plan will guide transportation decision-making in the City over the next 25 plus years and will recommend improvements for all modes of transportation, including walking, cycling, public transit, goods movement, and vehicles. This process is important to ensure that transportation investments work towards achieving the City’s strategic goals, make the best use of our tax dollars and help us shift towards a more sustainable future.
