Sterling Business Awards Overview

The Sterling Awards are currently undergoing a complete review and one of the major changes is that we are moving the date of the awards to occur during Small Business Week in October. The date of the awards in 2013 will be Friday, October 25th.

We will be issuing a Press Release shortly to announce these changes, and information on the revised awards will be posted on our website at the same time we issue the Press Release.

History

Since 2000, the Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce has recognized excellence in Business and Customer Service in our community with the annual Sterling Awards. In collaboration with our numerous sponsors we have recognized over 1000 individuals and businesses.

As a non-profit organization that receives no government funding, the Chamber relies on fundraising events such as the Sterling Awards to help fund its many programs and initiatives.

The 2012 Sterling Business Awards were held Friday, May 4th at the Vancouver Island Conference Centre. Nominations rolled in and the independent panel of judges had their work cut out for them in determining the finalists in each category.
